Pictured above is a hand made Coppola guitar. Why hand made? A craftsperson making a guitar by hand can better tune the woods, for resonance and tone, carefully watch all aspects of construction and most especially setup the guitar's sound and playability according to custom specs. It is not that a factories guitars aren't good, but I feel I can give more attention to my guitars personally.

About this guitar.

The body is an original design. I felt the usual drednaught was improved upon by making this guitars body a little rounder, thinner waist, and a very deep riskque cutaway for maximum playability. The heel of the neck is of a 1/2" flat design to allow better reach of the neck. the rosetteless headstock allows for more playability. The depth of the body spans from 3 1/2" at the bottom to 3" at the neck. According to Benedetto this is the ultimate width for bass and treble string response.

Specifications

Soundboard: Alaskan Sitka spruce. The edges are planed thinner than the body for better sustain.

Back and Sides: Maranti Mahogany. Gives a mellow sound. Mahogany is a traditional guitar wood. I obtain it locally for reasonable price. Also has planed edges for resonance.

Neck: Maranti Mahogany. No rosette. 25.4 scale. 20 frets. White dot inlays on side of neck and front of fretboard. Gotah tuning machines. Front headstock veneer. Gibson style truss rod.

Bracing: Sitka Spruce. X-bracing for bridge. Hand carved and tuned bracing.

fretboard: Ipey. 20 frets. 12" radius. Dot inlays mother of pearl.

Bridge: ipey. traditional design. Hand fit to slightly arched top.

Saddle and Nut are bone for more resonance.
